Tree-shaped Bird Feeder

This was a very fun project to test some new tricks!

I started off without a drawn design (a slightly-worrying rarity) - just a discussion with the client, but we knew we were both on the same wavelength the whole time, so i just got on with it

The project itself was based upon 8 lengths of round bar steel, all twisted together after heating in the forge, each bit was then individually released from the “trunk” at seperate heights, so they could branch out (get it?) and have forged and plasma-cut leaves welded onto.

It is held into the ground with an almost 2ft long spike - so it certainly won’t be moving with the wind, and it is painted with a coppery sheen - so it matches the copperwork on the client’s house.
